William Perkin Church of England High School
William Perkin Church of England High School (11-18yrs)
The LDBS has received approval from the Department for Education (DfE) for a new secondary school in Greenford, North Ealing. The provisional name for this school was North Ealing Church of England Academy (NECEA) (10.10.11)
Our vision is for an 11–18 academy serving the whole community (with an open admissions policy) located on the former Glaxo sports fields site in Oldfield Lane North, Greenford. The academy has a planned opening date of September 2013, admitting 180 students into Year 7 only and growing each year by a further intake, increasing to 240 per year from 2015. A Sixth Form of 200 is planned starting in 2018.
We have received considerable support from parents, teachers and governors in primary schools in the Greenford North / Perivale area who are aware that there is no nearby secondary school for their children.
We are excited that Twyford C of E High School, one of the most successful and popular schools in the area has agreed to partner us in setting up this school and their expertise will help us to create the truly outstanding academy for which we are aiming.
Over 2000 signatures were collected by parents in just three weeks in January 2011 supporting the Twyford/LDBS bid, and in May more than 500 committed themselves, to applying to the new school.
"Our academy will be founded on Christian principles and be open to families of all faiths and those of no faith; an academy serving the whole community." Alice Hudson, Headteacher of Twyford
