Q. NQT's - 1st Term. In the event of poor performance, how soon should I seek help from the LDBS?
A. Immediately! It is important to act quickly within guidelines for NQT induction.
Q. Where can I get hold of contracts?
A. We now have a dedicated page where you can download all contracts / teacher application forms or fill them in on line (pdfs): LDBS Contracts / Forms
Q. I would like to place an advert and heard that the LDBS has discounted rates?
A. Yes this is correct, we have abeen able to get discounts for our schools. Please contact Pat Regan for all adverts on: 020 7932 1162 (Mon-Thurs) or email: pat.regan@london.anglican.org

Q. I believe that we can download most of the publications produced by the LDBS - I have tried and they require a password?
A. Yes that is correct; if you have signed up to our Core Sevices Agreement you will now be able to download publications and the password has been sent to the schools who have signed up. Please note that most publications can be printed but not edited and copyright belongs to the LDBS. The publications that need filling in e.g. Hire of school premises can be edited with the relevant fill-in information.

Q. What is a SCITT?
A. SCITT stands for School Centred Initial Teacher Training, trainees spend 50% of their time in school and 50% in centre based training.
Q. What qualifications do graduates receive?
A. A PGCE and QTS.
Q. What age range do you specialise in?
A. EYFS and Key Stage 1
Q. Why does the LDBS have its own initial teacher training?
A. The SCITT was established in 1999 by a consortium of LDBS church school headteachers who were eager to recruit quality teachers who were committed to working in a church school. Continuing to reflect this initial endeavour the SCITT has a very strong SMSC ethos which permeates all teaching as well as a sound RE element. We have a high percentage of ‘outstanding’ and ‘good’ graduates.
Q. What are the advantages of the LDBS SCITT?
A. We are a very small organisation, the advantages of which are; trainees get to know each other very well and work collaboratively, tutors get to know the strengths of their trainees and are able to give them personal support and advice through out the taught and school based elements of the course. We understand the expectations of LDBS schools and recruit and train teachers with this in mind.

LDBS STAFFING SERVICE
Q. What is the LDBS Staffing Service
A. The LDBS Staffing Service is specifically designed to provide a unique staffing provision for all LDBS and Affiliate schools. The Service covers; Full time and Supply roles for; Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Admin and Premises Staff in London schools.

Q. Can I supply teach in LDBS schools?
A. Yes you can by registering with the Service. You will need to be fully vetted and have good strong references which will be verified after a face to face interview.
