LONDONERS GIVE THUMBS UP TO CHURCH SCHOOLS!

In September 2008 the London Diocesan Board for Schools asked YouGov to seek the views of adults in London about Church of England Schools. 1044 adults were surveyed between 24th and 26th September 2008.

Londoners were asked to agree or disagree with a series of 9 statements – for example, whether or not …

• Church of England schools offer high quality education
• Church of England schools should be abolished
• There should be more Church of England schools if parents want them
• Church of England schools lead to segregation and division

62% think that Church of England Schools have a rightful place in London’s education system.

Only 14% think that Church of England schools should be abolished

Over half the respondents (53%) agree that Church of England schools do not lead to segregation and division in society.

For every Londoner who is negative towards our schools, there are three to four who are supportive.

In the pie charts below BLUE is supportive of Church of England schools; ORANGE is negative and YELLOW is neutral
